Do you accept pets?
While Dungallan Country House does not generally accommodate pets, we are happy to consider support dogs and well-behaved pets upon request.
Can you provide directions to Dungallan Country House?
We have a map on our contact page showing the location of the house. We are located on Gallanach Road about a 3 minute drive past the main Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal entrance.
How far is Dungallan Country House from the centre of Oban?
We are a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Oban. The quickest route is to walk through the main Caledonian MacBrayne ferry terminal which takes you directly to the centre of town. There are also several taxi companies in Oban; it is around 4-5 minute drive into the centre of town.
What time is check in/out?
Check in time is from 3:00pm. This gives our housekeeping team sufficient time to clean and reset the room from the previous guests. Should you anticipate arriving earlier than 3:00pm, we are happy to hold any luggage for you if you would like to explore Oban until your room is ready or leave your car in the carpark. Check out time is 11am and again, this allows our housekeeping team sufficient time to clean and reset the room for the next guest.
Do I need to inform you of a late arrival/early check out?
If you anticipate arriving after 10:00pm, please do let us know. Our direct phone number is 01631 563799. If you require an early check out, prior to our breakfast start time of 7:30 am, please let us know the evening before and we will arrange your invoice for you.
Do you have a reception?
Staff is available from 07:00am to 11:00pm to assist you. Our office is manned from 07:00am-05:00pm. The General Manager lives on site so the house is covered 24/7.
Can I book direct with you?
Are there tours and activities in Oban and surrounding areas?
Yes there are a number of tour companies in Oban and a number of days out to explore on foot and in your car. You can find some on our Activities, Days Out & Golf page. We highly recommend pre-booking as Oban is extremely busy in the summer months.
Do you offer packed lunches?
Yes we can provide a packed lunch for you with 24 hours notice at the cost of £12,50 per person. Various options are available, please inquire for details.
Can I bring food into my room?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow any food to be consumed in the guest rooms due to previous extensive damage to carpets and furniture.
Do you serve evening meals?
We offer a selection of light suppers, available with 24 hours’ notice—perfect for those who prefer to relax and dine in. Should you wish to explore Oban’s restaurants, we recommend booking early, especially during the busy summer months.
Does the guest house have a bar?
Yes, we have a lounge bar which offers a large range of drinks including Tea, Coffee Specialties, Whisky, Spirits, bottled Beers, Wine, Champage, Prosecco and Soft Drinks.
What is the maximum number of adults that can be accommodated per room?
We have a maximum of 2 adults per room.
When is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served between 07:30am and 09.30am.
Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes we have a selection of breakfast choices covering vegan, gluten free and dairy free. Please provide details of any allergies at the time of booking.
Do you provide any other meal options?
We provide homemade afternoon teas which are served between 12.30 – 3:30pm Monday to Sunday. As all our teas are homemade, we require a minimum of 24hrs notice to prepare. The cost is £27.50 per person.
Is the house seasonal?
Dungallan Country House closes December 24 to 27, January 5 to February 13 for refurbishment and staff vacation.
